The 4 GOALS OF GIVING

“You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way.” II Cor. 9:11

Generosity done well is life-changing! Reading through the passages about generosity in the Bible, you’ll notice how God demonstrates and calls us to give using the FOUR GOALS OF GIVING:

#1 GIVE COMPASSIONATELY

He gave to show how much he loved us. It’s the only way to be generous.

For God so loved the world that he gave…” John 3:16

If I give all I possess to the poor… but have not love, I gain nothing.” I Cor. 13:3

#2 GIVE FREELY

The best gifts are free, not forced. Generosity is always genuine.

“…the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor. 9:7

#3 GIVE ABUNDANTLY

God owns everything, and we are His children. He didn’t hold back, and neither should we.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1

“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Cor. 9:6

#4 GIVE GOOD GIFTS

All good things come from God. Generosity is a blessing, not a burden.

“If you then know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matt. 7:11

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Cor. 9:8
